I had that trouble, although the phone on the same line was ok....then within a couple of days the phone packed up too.

I rang (on my mobile!) the fault number and they checked the line there and then and confirmed it was a fault, which was repaired within 36 hours (even though it was over a weekend).

My main network is on a 1mbit NTL line, and AFAIK, its been online for the past 5 or 6 months 24/7 without dropping. There were a few DNS issues, but it was online nevertheless and easily solved by dropping NTL's DNS servers.

Mine was horrendous, the BT replace the wiring form the street box and it improved a bit but then I bought a Dlink ADSL router and it hasnt dropped since !

Previously had a cheap Dabs Connexant internal ADSL modem and I think that was the source of my problems, do yourself a favour and if you dont already have one get a router, I think its better as it removes the modem from the PC with all its EMF (noise) and also I suppose it was more up to date.
