FIFA 2004 XBOX

But how does it compare to Pro Evolution Soccer 3?
I have always played the FIFA games, but found them to be too arcade-like.
I bought PES3 for the PS2 on Saturday, and have not slept a wink because of it.
The game is IMO much more realistic than FIFA. This in turn leads to a better experience for me.
FIFA definately rules when it comes to audio, but the graphics for PES3 are very good (although I am not saying they are better than FIFA). Gameplay is just stunning on PES3, but I haven't played FIFA 2004 yet.
This is of course my subjective view - I am glad you are enjoying FIFA 2004.
Good luck with the playing... may all of the cups come your way.

Fifa 2004 sucks *****
Same engine, no real major improvements and most versions are missing any speed options, I think due to problems with this code. Lots of bugs in there too, look out for see thru shirts during throw ins as well as people disapearing from replays, also check the slow down, really bad sometimes.
X-Box may have speed setting, sure the rest don't.

iDLe* - it isn't that I doubt you... it is just that I find it really unbelieveable that EA would release a game in that condition.
Makes you wonder... was it so that they could have it out at virtually the same time as PES3?
Terrible stuff if what you say is true.

to clarify
there is only a release of the xbox version at the moment so what idle is referring to is anyones guess
at this time of writing or typing actually there is a full dvd of the xbox version which i can confirm is the retail release with all menus and sped options intact
there was a supposed beta german dvd which was not generally released
dont ask me how i know these things
i just do

Been playing the pre-release versions of this software for a good while now, also have the PS2 and PC versions at home, got them on Friday but well aware general release is this week.
As I mentioned the speed options could well have made it into the X-Box version which is a major plus but its not in PS2/PC/GC as far as I know, which sucks.
But in all honestly I'm not digging this game, no major improments, just the same repackaged software year after year.
Now EA have started work on Euro04 qualifiers/Euro 04 and Fifa 04, same old crap again and again!!

To Answer adpd..
You would not even wanna know what happens, EA has too many share holders interests to think of so THE most important aspect of any game is the release date, this is the be all and end of a title such as Fifa and will not be broken without a lot of sh*t hitting the fan. EA holds the big licenses and loves to make money, they don't care about making good or original software, too risky, costly and unrewarding.
Look at small software houses over the years and you'll see how they strive to gain a rep and delay games for ages to ensure it's right before release. Check Goldeneye and Perfect Dark by Rare and you'll see just how polished a game can be if you put the time and money in, then compare this to Fifa etc and you see a big difference!
If it's makes money then its in the game!
