In my PCs cd drive, anyone know why? It has bmg-copycontrol on it, so you can't copy it for the car either, or convert to MP3.
Suggestions would be appreciated.

Any suggestions as to which wav recording software? I think the creative labs software is somewhere on the PC, perhaps that will do the job.
Thanks for the advice, although I'm still not happy I can't just play and copy it on the PC.

Someone's RTM'd this as "hypocracy" because I'm "a MOD is giving advice on piracy".
There's a difference between "fair use", and a difference between piracy. At the moment, there's a difference in the law, too: you can make copies for yourself, and even for family (though the second is always going to be on less firm ground than personal use).
Someone can't get a CD that he's bought and paid for to work in their PC or car, hence deserves help.
That isn't piracy: it's fair use. Please do not play the hypocracy card, there's no surefire way of winding me up . If I've got this wrong, let's take it to scoobynet policy but this to me is a perfectly legitimate "legal" question, and something that I've had troubles with too hence I'm trying to help.
Cheers,
Nick.

By sheer coincidence, a colleague at work was hitting exactly the same problem with exactly the same (Dido) CD (except that it isn't technically a CD, as it doesn't conform to the standard that Philips invented)!
Have a browse around...

amongst many sites that are upset by this phenomenon!

A friend tried it on their PC and it worked. My CD drive is a Mitsumi and works with every other CD I have, including Dido's last album, sorry CD.
