Whenever I try and stream something from the Internet in MP9 (XP) it comes up with an error message.

Windows Media Player cannot play any items in this playlist. For additional information, right-click an item that cannot be played, and then click Error Details.
Or sometimes

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the server is not responding. If you entered a URL or path to play the file, verify that it is correct. If you clicked a link to play the file, the link may not be valid.
Any ideas as the "Help" button doesnt help at all This happens whether its a Video file (avi, mpg, wmv etc) or a Radio station.

Cheers.

Without wishing to state the obvious, have you tried reinstalling it?

Yep Got it from Microsofts site, and its still exactly the same. Im thinking it must be something to do with the BB connection options?

All the options in Internet Explorer seem to be right. If I download the file and play it from the HD its fine, so the error message is confusing the issue I think when it says it cant find it?

Is it a large file? Perhaps it times out before it can stream it. What connection do you have size wise?

Cool

HAHA!

I've sorted it! It was my McAfee Firewall. It had changed the settings to block Media Player. Dunno why, but Im happy now.

Hopefully anybody else having similar problems will find this post useful.
