Please can I have some suggestions?
Have XP Home and a Pinnacle PCTV Pro card, running their s/w v.5.1. It's been fine for a year. Very recently, it has started strange behaviour; you select a channel, then one or two minutes afterwards (I haven't timed it exactly) the sound is cut and it's left with the visual only (plus the occasional buzzing in the speakers). If you switch to another channel the sound comes on again - for a minute or two. I'm now trying to watch TV with a finger on the channel button, and changing down/up every two minutes. I've tried reinstalling the software but no luck. Curiously it would only happen on my login, but today it happened with my wife's too, so now we can't watch the box at all.
I only have one idea, which is that this started happening at a similar time that we downloaded and installed MSN Messenger 6. I've yet to try uninstalling it. I also have ZoneAlarm and Norton AV on the machine, but they were fine for a year so I have no ground for suspicion there.
Can anyone give me an idea what might be going wrong, and even better, how to fix it? I've looked on Pinnacle's website, but they just have an upgrade patch which doesn't seem to be relevant and is 55MB - I'd appreciate the oracles' opinions from here before I attempt that!
Many thanks in advance
Brendan
