Hello,
after my pc had a fit the other day, where it wouldnt detect any harddrives, and wouldnt boot up.it now wont detect my printer using the usb port.
The printer worked fine before, the cable is attatched ok,printer has power and full ink.I have removed the printer software and reinstalled it.when it comes to detecting the printer during reinstallation of the s/ware it cant detect it.On the printer software it says "comms error".Its using LTP 1?? ,dont know what that is,is that the usb port??
Any ideas on what to check??
Windows ME
thanks

Unistall printer sw again
Remove usb cable reboot pc and insert cable again
PC may work out a new hardware had been found and then re-install printer sw
Just a thought

Windows ME
ME must be the most horrid, terrible, downright awful OS I have ever had the misfortune of using.... seriously, either roll back to 98 or get XP

LOL
Everyone says that about windows ME
Anyhow i finally fixed it
pressed delete on startup and entered chipset, had a mess about in there and found that the usb ports were disabled??
Put those back to Auto and hey presto it all works!!
This must have happened when the pc went crazy the other day!!
Thanks
