adsl router set up
#1
I have just had adsl enabled, and I am now browsing away quite happily with it. The question is, how?
I got this big list of configuration options, with dns server ip addresses, VPI, VCI, framing etc default gateway this, subnet mask that etc, but i have not had to put any of it in.
After running auto configure on router, and setting logon details and password, everything seems to work and autodetect each other - but i cant find where any of these settings have been applied to.
Any ideas? Not looking to mess with it if its working, just would like to know in case I have to work around things in the future.
I am running win98se, network card connected to speedtouch 510v4

VPI, VCP etc are pretty much standard across ISPs in the UK.
Things like IP, DNS etc will get pushed onto the router from your ISP.
If you want to look at the settings, point your web browser at the IP address of the router. Logon onto it, go into the 'Advanced' section then the last option (Config IIRC) and backup the config to a text file.
You can then view the text file to look at the config on the unit.
