If I were to buy a SATA to IDE converter, could I connect an ATA133 drive here into my SATA controller on my mobo? (Asus A7v8x)
I am aware of no gain in performance, but that doesn't bother me as I have all four channels of the IDE bus used by various devices.Just wanna get a bit more disk space by using yet another hard disk that I have found 'lying around'
Is this feasible or do you need a SATA drive to connect to a SATA controller? (I personally don't think I do....)
Thanks in advance
Nick

yes it works fine
i have the same mobo and configuration and use the ABIT SATA convertor but asus do one also, though it doesnt matter what make the converter is really.
Only prob i've noticed with the abit one is that it is a bit of a loose fit. part from that performance is great.
