Picking up email on the move?
#1
What's the best way to pick up emails on the move (eg. somewhere remote with no phoneline/power)?
Do any mobiles/PDA's/palmtops handle email properly? What about handling attachments? And I would need the ability to link it to my PC once back in the office?
What about associated costs (contract, airtime, etc)?

I have configured my o2 ericsson T68i to pick up my emails from my ISP account. It wont' handle attachments though and does take a long time to download the full text of the email. However, I have configured to only download the message header and the sender details. This will basically tell me whether there is anything important.
If you use GPRS I am sure that it will be faster.
I do not use it to send email and have never tried.
I can post the settings. Otherwise you can find more about this at esato .

Do you find you have problems sending mail this way?
I use my T68i to collect mail from a Freeserve account which works, but as you said can be slow, but I absolutely cannot get it to send mail.
