I am lookign for a laptop that has a fast 3d graphics performance for games like Unreal 2003 and counterstike etc. Can anyone recommend a laptop with a fast 3d performance?
Not sure which graphics chipset for the laptps is the fastest - anyone know if its the Nvidia or ATI?
Price point for the laptop up to 2k if anyone can recommend one.

cheers - i checked them out but its just out of my price range.
Nice laptop but i thinks its a bit over priced for the spec.
also the alienware laptop uses the ati chipset which i think is slight slower then the Nvdia chipset. Anyone know if this is correct?

Gericom, a european frontrunner in the field of mobile computing and communications, is the first vendor to launch a new notebook that utilizes the new ATI M10P graphics chip in 64 or 128MB memory configurations.
With its own development department and long-term development co-operation with leading technology providers and leading sales partners Gericom sets new standards.

The Radeon Mobility 9600 features full DirectX 9 support as well as ATI Overdrive, which automatically adjusts to the ideal clock speed / performance based on the thermal environment.

Echo comments on anything running the ATI Radeon mobile chipset (such as high-end VAIOs and, *I think*, some Toshibas?), churns along quite nicely...

If you have a month or 2 to spare, have a look at the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600, which ATI have developed and are putting out for early testing:
