My entire music collection sits on my harddrive as MP3 and I'm looking at an ICE system that caters for MP3.
The new Sony HD option looks and works very well - but it only plays ATRAC. Is there a way of converting my existing MP3's to ATRAC?

for mini disc (which is atrac)?
look at OpenMG jukebox - not sure what else it does, but it converts mp3 and writes them to my sony minidisc as atrac LP/2/4.

 

OpenMG is superb, but you will need the Sony NETman.

Well worth it as the quality is great.

 

So the only way is to buy some hardware that comes with conversion software?

Is this what you're getting? I was thinking about one, but it looks like a PITA to get your mp3s on there when it needn't be.

Yeah that's the one - but now I just read I can't even transfer existing ATRAC's to the unit! One CD at a time? Forget it.
