Cannot connect to C&C Generals online

Have tried loads of times on different days.Only managed to connect once.Any suggestions?

i changed my email address on it and it worked perfect

It automatically checks for updates when I go to the online screen.I've tried changing my email address too:-(.

How do I check if I'm running a firewall?I've never had any problems playing RA2 online.
