With XP Pro, how do I get the surround rectangle on the topic heading back?

When I had Win 98 and I used to click on a topic on Scoobynet I used to get a rectangular box around the topic heading after I would click on it on the index page. This used to make it easy for me to know which topic I had read so as I would not click on it again.
Since upgrading to XP Pro I don't get the box anymore and I get confused when I go back to the index page as I don't remember where I am. How do I get the box back?
