I have 5 software packages that will NOT co-exist with each other in windows. I know this sounds daft but its a long story.

To solve this, rather than buying 5 PCs to run each package on, I thought I'd install 5 versions of Win9x on single hard disk.

What I need to know is:

1. Is this feasable?
2. Can each partition be isolated, so that each partition can only see its own c: drive and no others ?

Excellent - will check it out. Although I hope I can 'hide' each copy of windows from the others as my software packages will attempt to search for and kinda disable rival packages.

Seems its a bit of a pain for HyperOS to hide each copy of windows.

I'm going to try something called Virtual PC

AS far as i know you could create 5 partions and install fresh on each one, then dual boot with all 5...

I used to dual boot with NT, 95, 98...

HTH.

Thanks Suba, will look into that, but Virtual PC seems to have all the credentials for it.

Not sure of the costs involved, but something like VMWare would certainly do the job

Cheers, will have a look.

About to build a test PC with "VirtualPC", the product I mentioned above. This seems to fit the criteria.
