Ian - Think it's an NTL set top box being used, so assume one cannot open up the ports?

 

There are so many things that are a consideration.

How do you know that you are running NAT? Are you running some proxy software?

 

i dunno nuffink.... just assumed like .... i cant vchat in msn at all so someone said try netmeeting ... which seems (seemed) to work with one user ..but tried with redkop and it wont

 

Talking via MSN Messenger, still uses NetMeeting

The user with Netmeeting behind NAT (your mate) has to initiate the connection, or it wont work.

 

She has done - numerous times and it still wont work

Someone must know why or know of something else we can try

Update: It now works and neither of us us have altered anything

Anyone au fait with Netmeeting? I have Netmeeting set up can talk to most people EXCEPT my mate! She is on ADSL and using XP like me. I am on dial-up and she has LAN settings and uses NAT's [whatever that is] Anyone any ideas as to why we can't talk [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
