Has anyone heard of this?

Outlook was installed onto a laptop, with a backup of emails saved to a .pst file, after the installation the emails were restored but there is a gap of six months in the emails? Originally there were around 2500 but now there are only around 500...?

Anyone??

Look for any other pst files on the computer. There is a option to archive emails and these disappear into archive.pst file normally. Change the settings for archive or add the archive to outlook as a personal folder.
