If you were offered a grand you should take it. This model can go for £799 (new) on Ebay

to confirm there is absolutely no chance of this model going for 799 pounds, if you buy it direct from compaq TODAY
it is 2000 pounds.
Thanks for your clueless comments though!
Just what you need when your selling an item

i have emailed bob and said that i would take his offer
if he gets back to me its his if not then its still for sale
the lappy you have mentioned is not the same as mine although admittedly its similar and is a bargain at just over a grand
it seems that people post unhelpful stuff on this board
ive seen it on loads of other posts

Let's not start sniping please folks.

If you go to http://www.hpstore.hp.co.uk/, part 470037-643 is indeed £1,699+VAT which is smidge over £2000 inclusive on my abacus.

That is full whack list price.

PC World BD want £1,599+VAT for it.

In the IE window behind this, I'm looking at the trade buy price from one of Compaq's distributors and that's a nice margin...

At the end of the day, the buyer can ask what they want though. If it's too much, then it won't sell or you're a fool to pay that much.

Play nicely please

Chris.

Cool

Express m8 ... wasn't meant as a snipe I'll remove I was just trying to balance between the low and high prices to help you out. It is just that I have given an offer for something before and then found it had been put up for sale to try and get me to cough up more !
Sorry if I upset !

Dave.
