My hd decided to die so I got myself a new one, the thing is I now have no sound

I have a disc MSI 5.1 DVD that came with my motherboard does this contain the drivers? but I have lost the serial no anyway.

Can anyone help?, can I use a different driver for the onboard sound?

Try and get the fccid off the mainboard (if it's not a "well know" make such as Asus, Abit etc)

Or if it is a known make go the their site and you should find drivers for the onboard sound there..

Oh, fccid, have a look here http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/

If you want to know who made something get the fccid code from it and this site will tell you
Everything capable of transmitting radio frequency when in use should have one, check under your mouse
lol
