Question

Does anyone know where I can get a usb2 to ide converter. I want to use an old hard drive as portable storage and this would be ideal. I realise that the hard disk won't be able to draw its power from the usb but this isn't a problem for me.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the quick reply.
Exactly what I was looking for.
Is there any real advantage to firewire over usb2? I have both on my pc but if i took it elsewhere usb is more universal.

Presumably a usb 2 device like this would still work plugged in to usb1 just slower?

Doc - I've got a Vipower 6228V going spare. £35 + P&P and it's yours.

Cool

lee thanks for the offer.

The vipower site mentions cd drives. Will this setup definitely run an ide hard disk?

Also is there a power supply for the disk?

How used is it?

email me if you prefer
