Right,
Just been having an ogle on the sun's website - as you do, of an evening.
I then paid a visit to www.thedailysport.co.uk
Hang on, where's all the t1ts!!!- there were none. I thought I had found the alladdin's cave of download sites - tons of music, apps, games OS's,movie clips, etc - all my kind of stuff.
I downloaded a grandmaster flash track - about 6.5 meg came through in 21 seconds at a scorching 380 + Kbs, miles more than I have ever seen before.
At this point I am quite chuffed - until i started to study some of the files listed, most of them looked familiar, very familiar -because they are all feckin mine !
At first glance it appears that this site is displaying the contents of my hard drive, but on closer inspection it is actually the folder I designate downloads to go to from Kazzalite.
Question 1 : how can this be done, or do I have a virus ( according to NAV 2002 I dont) ?
Question 2 : how can I stop it ?
Question 3 : can anyone else see it ?
Question 4 : what can be done with the info / data this "website" collects, if indeed it collects it at all ?
I just tried this on another pc in the office, and got the standard "http/cannot be found" nonsence, so I can only assume it related to Kazzalite or I have a virus.
Will someone else give it a whirl and let me know what you get.
thanks,
mj.
ps,
I'm off to Kazza to get me a firewall.

It will just be the page displaying the contents of your drive. I expect no-one else would be able to download off you - especially if you have a firewall.

Was Kazza running at the time? I know you can access your own machine on a certain port and you'll see your files, it was a way of upping your score on Kazza.
All of the above could be complete rubbish.

127.0.0.1 is a loopback address ie. it is pointing to your computer, from your point of view.
