Problems !!!


Got a laptop which refuses to load past startup screen of both windows me and xp. Tried scanning for boot sector virii and others and now safe mode does not work either.

I've scanned for any virii and nothing
Scanned for boot sector and nothing either
There is somekind of new logo screen which displays before the BIOS details come on screen showing GERICOM mobile world !!! - where is this from ?!

PLEASE PLEASE HELP !

forgot to mention - used partition magic to create another partiion for data as laptop has just dvd and floppy and then formatted partition 1 and reinstalled windows me but nothing !

If I could get all data off laptop using external CDrw (USB) in ms-dos then I can simply fdisk etc and hope it fixes error.

I thought it may be something to do with BIOS as the logo displayed has appeared from nowhere !

 

Go into your Bios and set 'reset to defaults' or similar.
What is the error message when it tries to boot, if any?
Can you get into safe mode?

While your in the bios, make sure your system is set to boot from the HDD.

GERICOM is used for the motherboard settings on all PC WOrlds Advent PC's

From that www address yo can download new/old bios settings which may restore your pc to the norm
