I've recently gone online with Freeserve (Anytime) using one of their CD's. Everytime I try to log on I go straight back to the Stage 2 confirmation page rather then their home page. Then have to either quit the page or re-enter my user name & password.
Please could someone explain how I can stop this happening in words of one syllable or less as I am a total f^%$wit when it comes down to computers, as it is beginning to drive me nuts.
Many thanks in advance,
Ed

my old man had this prob.
you need to edit the registry for the default homepage
and select something like www.ggogle.com, i think from memory.
if you dont know what your doing, get someone who does, or mail me tomorrow and i'll call you up.

or in english, it may be worth printing this out :
click start / run , then type regedit.
a folder tree is visible on the left hand side, expand ( click the small cross next to the folder ) "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"
scroll down and expand "Software"
scroll down and expand "Microsoft"
scroll down and expand "Internet Explorer"
scroll down and double click the folder called "Main"
now look over the right hand side of the screen and scroll down until you find a file / entry called "start page"
right click on the" start page" entry and select "modify"
change the text in the "value Data" box to the new homepage you want - www.google.com for instance.
click ok.
close the registry editor. you should now be able to go to google as the home page.
this was done with a windows 2000 machine.
disclaimer - i am an electrician, what little i know about computers i learnt in here! - so blame them.
