Right, I have a website, created in IIS, running fine, no access problems.
say, http://intranet (is the website, running on internal lan)
I have a virtual directory running under the website, however when browsing to the virtual site it asks for a username and password (if intergrated windows authenticaion is switched on) or 'you are not authorised to view this page' if authentication is switched off.
say, http://intranet/phpbb (is the virtual directory)
Very strange, i have tried several combinations of directory security settings but cannot gain access to the virtual site unless i use the local administrator credentails when asked for username and password.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Paul
PS: The virtual site is using php, dunno is that'll make a diff.
Oh OS is W2K Adv Server

yes I know, thats done. This is an access/security problem more than anything else. The PHP BBS works fine, but can only be accessed if an administrator password is entered in the authenticarion side of things.

Has the IUSR_MachineName got execute permission on the PHP.EXE file or the folder contaning it?
Sounds to me like thats your problem, and hence why it works when you enter an administrator password.
