Annoying Dialogue Box - Help Please!

For some reason I am getting a dialogue box appearing every few minutes on my screen.
It says as follows: Internet Explorer Script Error

Error The object invoked has disconncted from it's clients.

I have no idea where it is coming from nor why . How do I permanently get rid of it?

My great thanks to Silent Monkey for his help as I now can rid myself of the dialogue box AND the host of advertising popups which are occurring ( and I did not even know they were linked to this initial dialogue box until I read the suggested remedy.)
