Mario Sunshine - top stuff
I've got a PS2 as well and I'd say it's worth having both (I think I'd miss GTA3 too much), whether you would feel the same about having all three consoles, I don't know - you would have to decide that.
You could always buy a Cube in Game and take it back if you change your mind, as they are accepting returns until the 12th Jan.

The XBox and PS2 are, IMO, very similar consoles and you already own both.
The GC is the console of the three that has something different to offer...all the Mario games, Bomberman, Pikmin, Sonic and Zelda.
Not being a sport game fan, i've quickly gotten fed up of all 3 PS2s i've owned but I reckon i'm gonna be happy with my Cube, even if I do have to pay full whack for the games

As Den said, buy one and return it if you're not happy with it.
Game accept returns within 2weeks, Tesco have a 'no quibble' money back guarantee. Plenty sale or return shops out there.

Somebody else sees the light!
All the Mario games are works of art, and yes its worth buying a GameCube for, although you also need to buy Metroid Prime and Zelda next year.
Add to that the rumour that all Resident Evil games will be Nintendo only may force you to buy a GameCube.

I 'tested' a gamecube I bought for my sisters children for two weeks. Mario Sunshine is one fab game. I managed 54 'shine' during that time and was gagging for more, Santa nearly mislaid it!
I got some vouchers for Game for my birthday may go and have a look at a GC

Worth buy the cube for? Hell, its worth selling your granny to get Mario + Cube!
Having loads of multiplayer fun on Bomberman Generations too at the mow. I'd say for Cube, you must get:
Mario Sunshine
Time Splitters 2 (if you don't have it on PS2/Xbox)
Bomberman Generations
Eternal Darkness
Resident Evil (if you're a fan)
I accidently bought a 36" widescreen tv yesterday, and the games look even better!
