Having a few problems with a new circuit put in with it being looped.
Can anyone explain what an NTU and an EDL is. So I can understand the tech support people better.
Thanks.

Not come across "EDL" before.
The NTU is the Network Terminating Unit. The box owned by the Leased Line provider which converts whatever they used for the line into what they agreed to present to you. For a normal BT < 2mb/s line its the grey Box whuich the copper pair plug into at the back and presents the X21 DB15 port you need for your router/mux etc.
It can be "looped" both remotely and manually so BT can prove both the TX and RX paths indpendantly of your equipment. Likewise you can "Loop" it so the line appears "Up" to your equipment (independant of the "real" line), allowing you to test if your port is down because your cable/equipment is knackered or its an external line fault.
Most leased lines should be loop tested by the BT engineer during install and prior to him handing over to you. Sounds like an engineer left it in "loop" mode by mistake....
