I'm in North Hampshire and for the last few days I've been having problems browsing the internet intermittently. When browsing I often can't view pages - including SN - I get the standard 'this page cannot be displayed' window, but if I refresh or keep trying to browse the same page, eventually I get the page I'm after.

An email has been sent to NTL, are they struggling to cope with load in the evenings or something?

Question

Si -

What are you talking about? The sent/received packet count sent over your LAN connection? If so, I can't see what that would have to do with the problem?

Gets worse, I couldn't access their pop server this morning. Barstewards. 'Always on' - my ****.

Is your LAN card changing its IP address after about 10 mins use ? Mine is. Dunno if that is prob or the modem/service.

Question

Druddle -

I'm actually connected via a USB port to the cable modem, not via ethernet. I guess I'll have to run ipconfig every so often to see if my address is changing.

Cheers,

Den

Question

I assumed you were talking about the number of packets sent/received over your LAN connection into your router?

I wasn't clear what you meant by:

at the moment the received counter says 990, which is generaly 4 times that number compared to sent
What did you mean by that?

Cheers,

Den
