Question

Sort of related, sorry if this is considered a hijack...

I was in Game yesterday and they had the usual stickers on their games, saying price match etc...

I asked if they would price match Amazon, Play etc, and the kid (who in fairness, didn't seem to have a clue) said "nah, only local retailers mate".

I'm tempted to email Game customer services and ask...

Den

AFAIK they still price match, did for me on friday.....but that was against Gamestation. They did match Toys R Us as I got my Gamecube from them and they matched the Toy R Us price, maybe they do it with a certain distance which might rule out Toys R Us as their usually out of town.

BTW Game did not take over EB, EB brought Game a couple of years ago and changed the name from EB to Game after some contract fallings out with the US EB.

Went shopping for an xbox bundle at the weekend, Best offer was console + 2 games bundle and 3 titles of my choice from currys, £198. No one else would match them (including Game) and Dixons said not as they were part of the same group.
What was the deal with TRU ?.

Question

My normal Electronic Boutique used to price match anywhere else in town, went in today and tried to see if they would match Toys'R'Us and got told they would not match TRU prices. Is this something new? or has it been the case since Game took over EB?

Went up to HMV and bought a different bundle there instead (TRU is just a bit too far to walk carrying an X-Box as it is a tad heavy)

That's a new one m8, I bought my PS2 last Xmas from EB using a TRU advert which they price matched. I also assume that they have a different policy since GAME took EB over in July.

I'd go for it just to see what they say, but would assume that he has a valid point, local retailers only.

I did find it very strange, there are 2 TRU in Glasow, and both within 5 miles of Game, one probably within 2 miles as the cow flies.
They did price match my Gamecube a few months back, but that wasn't against TRU, and was when they were still EB.

Thanks for the correction on the who owns who, I guess I probably should have read the letter they sent me when they changed my loyalty card

I want to see this flying cow!

Game did not price match my Xbox, but I trusted cem who told me they were the cheapest anyway!

they did the same £160 with two games deal as everyone else except that they also gave me £20 off another game too, so I bought halo.

Adam, trust me you don't want to see a flying cow, if you thought pigeons were messy you haven't seem what a flying cow can do

The TRU price was 200 for the Spinter Cell pack (Splinter Cell, Halo, Sega GT2002, Jet Set Radio) and Championship Manager. I didn't go into Currys as I assumed they would be the same as Dixons, doh!
