Unfortunately got to shell out for the above for my sons (and mine !) Christmas present and have seen many different specifications and prices. Will be used mainly for GT3, WRC and Colin Mcrae. Is it worth spending the extra on force feedback ?

Any recommendations will be appreciated !!!

Logitech do a MOMO one which is quite nice, leather wheel etc. It is a bit pricey though, PC world had it at £100, not sure if that was a special offer. It is meant for the PC, but as I understand it it should work with the PC.

Failing that the normal logitech one (blue) seems pretty good. I think there is one for sale in the for sale section somewhere.

I'm in the same boat (kids/Christmas pressie) - any recommendations for PS2 steering wheels? What's the general concensus? Thanks.

I have the Logitech Momo and it's great. I use it on the PC though, and don't know if it works on the PS2.

Got it from Dabs for just over £100 (PC World are more expensive at the moment). There seems to be a supply problem - or at least there was a week or two back.

Hi Graham,

I race 2-stroke karts with Club 100 (www.club100.co.uk) and the guy that used to run it, Ian Berry, has these frames for sale.

http://www.karting.co.uk/News.html#N499

They're a bit pricey but work on all platforms.

Thanks for the replies chaps, but has anybody got any other views regarding whether the force feedback are realistic and worth the extra cash ??

Thanks

Just picked up WRC II Extreme today and the manual is going on about using it with the Force Feedback steering wheels so it kind of seems like this is the standard bit of kit.

The FF wheels are twice the price of the others out there...what's the deal guys? Lots of wheels out there for x-box but I don't care about them, all I can see here are the Logitech and Ferrari Modena wheels for PS2. I'm keeping up the shopping but surely there must be scoobynetters out there with PS2's who can provide us with some info?

Not sure if they still do it for the PS2, but the Logitech did a PS2 version of the Wingman Formula Force wheel which was great. And it would work on a PC too.

Just bought the logitech driving force wheel from amazon. 80 quid but well worth it.

From what i can work out this is the only wheel that fully works with cmr3, due to some wheels have conflict with the paddle shifts not working in manual mode.

Force Feedback is a must without it the realism is not there. If you do buy a wheel i cant recommend it more, it takes some gettin used to but is just mich more fun

Graham, please let me know what you think. I saw one today and it looked a bit plasticy so I was a bit concerned as to how much "punishment" they are able to withstand !

For my part, I finally got WRC II Extreme on the PS2 today...I think I need a wheel! I quite like the game although it doesn't take a lot to roll the cars down the sides of the hills.
