Try S'ing T F'ing W for "progress" rather than process. There's looooads of information in there

Count records in DB, initialise progress bar with that as the max value, on your loop that loads data update the progress bar...

The progress bar is a standard control in comctl32.ocx! It isn't complex, it's as easy as it gets.

What's the problem that you're having??? I'm intrigued...

The ones ive being reading seem to be activex objects!
All i want it to do is simply show the progress for 10secs, the bar moves left to right in 0-100%.

then database has loaded questionaire and im away.

Add the Microsoft Common Controls pack to your toolset (tools / components menu option IIRC)

You'll have more icons in your toolbar. One will look like a progress bar.

Drag that onto your form. Set properties of maxvalue to 20

Add a timer to your form with a 500ms tick time.

Have the timer increment the value of the progress bar when it fires.

That's it. It really is that easy...
