want / need to record the sounds from the exhaust on the scooby.
What portable digital sound recorders are available on the market,
something cheap and chearful tho not too cheap if you know what I mean.
assume it neeeds to be digital to be able to upload it to the net ?
advice please !

You could:
a) Get a microphone with a long lead to attach to your computer.
b) Use any portable tape recorder, ala walkman stylee. Then play it back into your sound card on your pc while recording it on the computer.

c) Get a dat recorder with a powered mic. Record sample. Transfer to your computer digitally. Buy me a THX surround type setup so I can listen to it at this end

ps. use a setting of like 11khz 8bit mono for a small sound file.
