I'll put me falsh teef back before I ask this. Anyone remember how you get the Microsoft Dial up adapter back in the options list in network control panel after you delete it cos its corrupt? I've done it before but my brain sems to have got wasted on all the beer, so I am now officially to old to understand
Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Windows Setup -> Communications. Untick 'Dial-Up Networking' to "remove" it, re-boot, then tick it again to reinstall.
Cheers Bashful but no joy  tried removing and re-installing DUN - no difference. Tried upgrading to newer version. No difference. Anyone know what the inf file for the dial up adapter is called?
