Im really asking for help on behalf of a work colleague,

Basically my mates daughter has being chatting to one and her mums just found out.

The police have being told, but the person has her address, and daughter’s Mobile number.

They had an address in Darlington aswell.

Basically, is there any form of data on her pc that could help?? I.e. chat logs, IE history??!?!?!

I suggested a key logger to see what her daughter puts in future but she’s banned at the moment.

She’s running XP, any help very well received.

Thanks

Simon

Messenger+ bolts into MSN and will log all conversations to a text file.

Unless a previous conversation on MSN has been saved (File > Save As), I don't think there's anything you can do.

How do you know he is a paedophile? Did he announce it as such?

"Hello girly, I'm a nonce."

<Kevin> I don't think so<McCallister>

If the daughter is too young to understand the implications of chatrooms, then she shouldn't be allowed to use the PC for internet stuff without at least one of her parents present, really. It's a tricky area though.

That's good, 'cos I wasn't criticising. You asked for a suggestion, I made one (i.e., to not let her use the PC unattended).

You never mentioned how old she is, so it's a bit difficult for us to give constructive advice. For example, if she's 9, then I would suggest she shouldn't be on the web unattended ever. Whereas if she's 15, her parents should really be able to explain the risks to her in no uncertain terms.

Erm, me when I was 15? Some of the stuff we used to talk about at school at that age was pretty filthy, really. And no, I'm not trying to be funny - I'm being deadly serious.

The phone number was removed as Si now has it, and the number is directly to my desk @ work. So no, its not just the Old Bill - it's mine!

Dave - thanks for your kind words

si - as discussed, need any more info etc, give me a bell.

Err... I am sure most boys 13+ would send stuff like that.

FFS she is 15. You made it sound like she was a young girl!

Is she fit? Do you have a photo?
