Exclamation

Just found evidence of a phone freaker blitzing our system.

Its been reported from our HQ that hundreds of pounds worth of calls to Pakistan are being made from our building. Going through our tracking logs and recording systems we discovered this. Someone dials in to our system voice menus, they are then entering a particular code for our type of switch which transfers their call internally, this then allows them to dial the International Operator from our internal phone system. They are charged the connection to the building here but all the overseas costs are incurred by us.

Clever. BTs DX Messenger was the switch with the door open.

FYI

Well they dialled our number, listened to the menu options and then pressed *8 on their tone phone, then 9 for an external line and then 155 for the international operator.

Our "freak" made 7 calls to 7 different Pakistani numbers on Saturday, each call costing between 55 and 173 pounds, for a total of 7.5 hours.

The system is DX Messenger.
