What's a cookie?

Putting it simply, a cookie is a small file placed and updated on your computer when you browse a web site. It contains information relating to you and that site, e.g. your user name, your shopping basket contents, etc.
There's a lot more to it than that though, particularly around privacy issues and the way sites abuse cookies.
Hope this helps,
Dave

Mikey,
go to http://www.cookiecentral.com/ and have a look under the "Cookies" menu option at the top of the page.
