Question

Just burning my weekly backup of my laptop data to CD, and wondered how many people here regularly back up their home machine?

I had a nasty scare a couple of weeks ago, when I accidentally deleted a load of stuff from DOS when a batch file got confused with its parameters and 'went postal'. Luckily, my backup meant I didn't lose any data.

Have you backed your crucial data up recently?

No Andy, for me to read a manual means something has gone SERIOUSLY wrong though!

You don't bother backing up the movies?

Depends if you count pr0n as "data" - so no. Got a ghost image of the OS with basic configuration and a few apps which does fine.

I have a DDS-3 here at home, but am far too lazy to ever use it!

Must be a candidate for world's least used DAT drive

Cheers,

I lost just over 30gigs of mp3's and a similar amount of pr0n when my IBM deskstar went **** up last year will never forget that sinking feeling when I realised it had all gone

Now have two 120gig Ibm's with a carbon copy on the slave drive, never ever want to go through that again, now upto 35gigs of mp3's and 50gigs of pr0n in just over 12 months, poor old Nildram,
