From: Suffolk, very near Adnams !!

I have tried to install gpl on my new pc (xp) and half way through the installation i get the messege "this is not a valid cd, contact the vendor for further information", could anyone help..............................

Sounds like you've got a damaged CD.

If you've got plenty of hard drive space, then copy the entire contents of the CD to a new folder, and run the setup.exe from there.

Time for a new copy then mate.

I've seen it in PC World for a fiver.

I've seen it on Kazaa for free.

You could argue that you've already payed for the original.
