Question

I'm looking to relocate to Cornwall (Bodmin - St. Austell area) and wondered if anybody knew of any IT jobs going (permanent or contract) My skillset is in Windows 9x/2000/XP desktop builds, Netware/2000/XP server builds, Active Directory/NDS, DNS & DHCP, Internet access servers, firewalls, TCP/IP, security patching, anti-virus, intruder detection. Always been a bit of a troubleshooter, so ideally looking for a technical support type role, or running the shop for a medium sized company.

Hi Stuart,

Maybe a bit far away (both in distance and in time), but I'm sure there be positions like that at the Met Office once it relocates to Exeter (just off junc 29 M5). This will be from about late 2003 onwards.

However, don't let that stop you from applying as they will need people like you as the new building is fitted out and then for support/addition of new systems afterwards.

See the rolling recruitment advert here: http://www.metoffice.com/corporate/r...pecialist.html

Cheers

Ian

Hi Stuart,

I live (originally) about 4 miles from Bodmin, and now work in London, the IT job market in Cornwall is chronic right now (and has been for as long as I've been out of uni - since 97)

I keep trying to find a job down that way, but jobserve just spits 0 results at you when you type Cornwall, you would struggle to find a job in Cornwall that merits your skillset I fear...

Like Ian said, best bet is either Plymouth - 35m or Exeter - 64m (1 hour~)

good luck

Land Registry in plymouth is on a big recruitment drive at the moment for tech support, network admin and security staff. If you give them a call and explain the situation I am sure they could fit you in. I would do it soon though as they are running their interview very soon.
