Exchange 2000 Quezzie

This'll seem daft but I'm trying to set up the Outlook OOA to auto-forward my e-mails to an external account. It would appear that Exchange doesn't want to play though!
I remember somewhere in Ex2K there's an option to allow it to send OOA reply's externally as they're stopped by default.
I don't remember where this setting is now, and not only that, I don't think that would cause the problem anyway?
Has anyone got any ideas on this at all? I'm using Exchange 2000 SP2, Windows 2000 Server SP2 and Outlook 2000 SP1
Cheers,
Ian

i THINK the setting you describe is in the SMTP connector config and this could very well be your problem...
other than that we've had problems here with some forwarding rules for all incoming messages and now do them this way.... http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q281926

Ah, ta for that. I still haven't found that external OOA reply option yet! I looked at the SMTP Connector properties first I must admit. That kb article seems right though - thanks very much!

I'm sure it was in Ex2K? Either way!
The kb article method works perfectly - but only forwards to internal addresses? I added a contact in AD with an external smtp e-mail address but nothing gets sent out?
Strange?

Although, make sure you have Send and Receive limits on your mailboxes. On the Exchange communities I read, OOA to the Internet is not recommended.

Yup, I read that too Miles - I've done it differently now anyway. Just used the forwarding from AD Users and Computers and not bothering with external OOA replies.
