My Tower

Where Devices
External 5" 1/4 Floppy,
Super Disk
Internal Zip
Cd Rom
Optional fan bit Soon - water cooling Radiator
External 3 1/2 3 Hard Drives , Just!
Front I/O 4*8cm Fans 2* 8cm adjacent

As you can imagine just where my Hard drives are situated , all my IDE channels and raid channels are, and next to that are my 4 simm slots with my massive zalman Flower heat sink covers, with a huge 9cm fan hoovering over that! So threw the tiny hole between the top and the bottom theres, 3 ide leads power cabling, and lighting lead etc!

its getting very congested. 1st move it 5 braided rounded cables but that isnt going to make mass space! what are other peoples Solution.

its making the Pc very hot with its bad air slow and 3hard drives dont help! when water cooling arrives its going to be nothing short of a nightmare
Thanks

Simon

1. Get a bigger case ?

2. Cut a big hole in the side of the case and install a 30cm car raditor fan.

3. Ditch all the fans etc and run the PC from in side a freezer.

4. Consolidate all the hardware, i.e. if you have 3 hard disks, replace it with one etc.

5. Just go and buy a really, really fast PC. That way it'll all be done for you.

6. Ditch your External hard disks and do you really need a 5" 1/4 inch floppy drive ?

Cheers

Ian

big enough

was be bating on a 16" fan

£500 for frezzer case, water cooling will cool the cpu maybe air temps

[i]Raid - something new + cant use anymore IDE channels, Need an IDE hard drive as raid on 2k is hard enough not mounted with linux aswell!

Thumbs up

Mount your raid disks in the top rear and use drive coolers. Get rid of zip and floppy and CD and replace with DRV + CDR combo. Replace all cables with rounded. Mount your other HD in the front 5 1/4 bay and stick a drive cooler on it or in front of it. Romove 3 1/2 rack if poss. Make sure front fans are sucking in and rears are blowing out. You should not have a hot PC with a case like that.

The fan at the front. Are there holes in the front bezel where air can come in ??? if not make some... or a great big hole....

As above, put ALL disks at the top with some drive cooling and maybe a top blowhole fan to extract rising heat...
