Address Book Sharing
#1
Hi
I have a couple of networked PCs, WinXP on the main one, Win98 on the second - thanks to all last week who helped me get the network going.
I have shared the internet connection, folders and printer etc. but am wondering if it is possible to share an address book in Outlook Express or the version of Outlook that comes with Office 97.
Is there a way I can use the address book on the XP machine as a central address book accessible via the Win98 PC ? Or another way I can keep the address books on the two in sync ? I would like the addresses to be maintained in one place if possible.
Thanks in advance
Ken

Create a Personal Address Book (.PAB file) in a shared directory on one of the machines? Have one Outlook installation access it directly and the other via the network share.
TBH, I've never experimented to see if .PAB files can be accessed concurrently, and hence this theory may not work.
