Cydoor Spyware Removal?
#1
Lo peeps
Ad-aware has informed me that I have Cydoor spyware in my registry.
I have deleted the cydoor files using both ad-aware and regedit, but they re-appear after 10 secs.
Any ideas on how to delete the files permenantly?

Do you use Kazaa?
If you do then I recommend going to the following link and download/follow the instructions.
I use Kazaa and after using ad-aware, I added Phazeshift's fixed DLL and it does exactly what it is supposed to with Kazaa 1.71
http://www.phazeshift.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/kazaa.html
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Nick

Lo Nick
Thanks again for your help.
Spent the last hour trying to remove the cydoor spyware with the instructions from phazeshift, and succesfully removed the spyware.
As soon as I re-open Kazaa, the spyware is back in the registry, and ad aware picks up 3 entries in the registry again.
Kept at it, but just could not get Kazaa to run without it running Cydoor in the background.
Done some searching and found Kazaa lite, which clamed to have no spyware.
I uninstalled Kazaa and downloaded Kazaa lite from www.kazzalite.nl
It apears to be the exact same program as kazaa.
During instalation, it points out that it installs a dummy cd_clint.dll. in order to let kazaa run, but it points out that it is not the Cydoor spyware.
Once Kazaalite was installed, I ran aw-aware, and no sign of Cydoor
Kazaa lite apears to be Kazaa, coupled with the dll file that can be downloaded from the phazeshift website
Thanks again Nick with your help, Cydoor is now a closed door
