Anybody else use these programs? got a mail from musiccity telling me of the new morphious. I havent used another since the first morphious went off line so i decieded it's time to get myself some new tunes and the like. I went to the download report and 67% say its crap so I decieded against it. I thought about kazza but have been told it's full of spyware!?!?!?

"Excellent program but BEWARE OF SPYWARE!"
I must say... this is one of the best P2P program available in the market. But nothing comes free in the real world, especially in the world wide web. KaZaA maybe the cream of the crop of file swapping programs but tons of downright dirty spywares sucked everything good out of this otherwise excellent program.
And morphious seems to be the same...
"Still a joke"
They have taken a perfectly good open source gnutella client (Gnucleus) and loaded it with pop-up ads, ugly banner ads, pop-under ads, skyscrapper ads...ads...ads...ads and more ads. It is dreadful, then they included this shopping spyware junk that you can not remove from your computer. What a mess--does not even work well. Just stick with Gnucleus or if you want fast and easy try the new XoloX.
So I've decieded to try XoloX, however this seems real slow and just seems to search all the time when your downloading something. This has no spayware whatsoever but does seem abit crap to me.

What does everyone else use and what do you make of them?

Apriciate your input.

I use kazaa for downloads and PestPatrol (about $20) to keep the spyware and other nasties at bay. Got broadband so I use ZoneAlarm firewall too. The amount of adware I get is bearable enough not to use anything special to defeat it.

Grokster uses the same network as Morpheous and KaZaA, and doesn't contain spyware.

Crypt

I've tried a few, Morpheous, edonkey, audiogalaxy.

The best I've found is Kazaa lite all the benefits without the spyware

Bandwidth makes a LOT of difference, the more you have the faster you will get what you are after.

For those intrested I decieded to go with kaazaalite same as kazza but uses a fake dll file instead of the ad and spyware.

Brill service and totally faster to download the tunes I want.

Try http://www.blubster.com

Beware of Blubster !!

I got constant port scans when using it. Got the hump and reset my cable modem in the end to get rid of them

been using kazaa lite for a few days now after aimster shutting down, then audiogalaxy shutting down.

Everything i've searched for has been there and download speeds have been absolutely fantastic. can't complain.

Only wish there was an option to choose the quality of music/videos downloaded. i.e 190kbps instead of 128..

Just hold down alt and f4. Works a treat. I use edonkey and the normal kazaa. I would say kazaa is better for smaller files but edonkey is better for the larger ones.

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ supply free ad-spyware-banner removing software which searches in your registry and hard disks for known spy-ware programs registry keys and give you the options to remove it.

I use it; it comes in handy just run it every month or when ever there is a problem.

you guys may want to try WinMX, it is more flexable than kazzar & you are able generate more results on searches. No spyware or ads.
