took me about 3 months and constatnt meetings to convince them to install solairs 8 over 2.6, so I rekion by christmas I'll have it licked!

Wink

Just finished up testing our product this morning, and seems fine on Solaris 9, nice that they put things like SSH in there, so I don't have to screw around setting that up too.

Simon - BTW the daughterboard in question is for the memory, its got very specific torque settings on the screws - SO DON'T USE YOUR TORQUE-FINGERS! as that might snap the motherboard or break the daughterboard.. It only seems to happen if a) there a lot of them in one rack or b) you have another system in the same rack that vibrates/resonates a hell of a lot...

That'll be why it came with some sort of memory insertion tool then?????

The one we have is fully loaded with memory, but I'll bear that tip in mind as we may be inheriting a mixed lot of 13 E220Rs and E420Rs from somewhere, if a deal comes off!

I personally own an Ultra 5 333MHz, but will leave this on Solaris 8 as it works nicely.

Simon (the company UNIX bod).

sol 9 should just be the same as sol8.

Just do a flarcreate, add_install_client and wait 40 minutes. Fully installed system with veritas + root disk mirror'd.

well, mine does that is
