Default ps4 fibre optic

Hey all

Is it best to have fibre optic broadband to download games/patches for the ps4 or is a standard broadband decent. I'm getting 10mb at the moment.

I had 1.5mb and it was slow so i upgrade to fibre and im getting about 38 now which is more than enough.

if i was getting 10mb though i would consider staying with regular broadband, why not give it a try and see how you get on. silly to spend the extra money if what you have will be fast enough.

Have you also tried a wired connection ? I've always ran wired while online, I'm getting roughly 55mb download sometimes more and with the wired connection it's rapid downloading updates

Im getting around 10/11mb on my broadband, takes me around 20mins to download 1 gb. Do you think this will be ok.

I believe you can download and play other games at the same time ?

I cant really comment on downloads as i only really play Fifa however i play online against by brother and the game is flawless with no buffering and he is getting about 7-8mb, i think you will be fine. why not try it and if you think it needs to be better then get it at a later date?

What are you using it for? Online gaming and streaming such as netflix dont need a lot of bandwidth tbh. If you are an FPS gamer you might appreciate the lower latency you get with fibre.

But as someone else said - if your not using a wired connection then you should sort that out first.
