I've only just gone up to 100Mb.

How do you know what level is available?

Holy Moley!

I'm on a paltry 50Mb DL and 18Mb UL. lol It's plenty quick enough though in reality.

I have a nice sub (majority of the time) 10ms ping though.

I'm not sure how these pings relate to real world on-line gaming experiences, but 32ms indicates up to 2 frames of lag.

in general Shaun my Pings seem to be pretty stable normally sub 50s. When i was ADSL or even if i plug into works supplied O2 ads there jump to around 80 to 110....
In my games like

Warcraft
Worked of Tanks and Ships

Its sub 50s.

Alka, just go into your virgin portal online and check upgrades see what they will give you... Ive always been max but this was a nice free upgrade

Upload is still 12 though never changes...
It relates to around 24mb sec load if your into that kinda numbering....on Sabnzb etc

Why do you need 200mbs in a residential house? Serious question by the way. Would 100 not be more than enough?

If it's not too rude to ask, what's the rough cost of 100 or 200 without the phone line rental?
Just curious to compare costs to what we have to pay here for far less than 100

Your pings aren't good .. you probably want to look into that if you play games.

Pimmo I've been playing games for 30 years a sub 50 ms ping in any game is good, for you to get that your sat on the hub, normal people get between 50 to 120 in games don't forget your pinging the providers hub there not the game servers, my pings in games are normally sub 50, back in Adsl land it's around 100, much more consistent with virgin,

7ms is daft never seen it that low even on works lan lol

Still bloody expensive, they quote me £54 a month for TV, phone and broadband, but I have to pay an extra £16 odd a month for the phoneleine? I've been paying that 13 years, don't I own it yet?

And, on top of that, I'm still paying for quite a few phone calls, despite paying extra for "evenings and weekends" etc.

Meanwhile, over in France, €30 a month buys me 160 TV channels, (which aren't all either the same channel +1hr, or regional variations of the same channel, and DOES include Canal+ for the sport), 10Mb internet, and FREE phone calls to anywhere in the world, any time of day, any day, with NO line rental.

Virgin internet may be pretty good, but the toothy b@stard's ripping us blind.

Manchester? my pings have never been higher than 10, in 8 years of being with VM.

I worked in the call centres many years ago and anything above 20 was classed as poor.

I'd be interested to know what games you were playing 30 years ago a. online and b. with pings less than 50?

ever since ive been online the pings from me and all the clans, gangs ive been in are around 50 - 120 a ping of 7 in World of Warcraft will never happen unless you work for Blizzard...

I'm not gonna argue with you about a 10 ping but ive yet to see anybody with one in anything i play...

even when i sit in 1 of the xbox games cant rem the name, but nobody ever shows a ping of 10, always 30s upwards...and it lists them on the left...

Weird you must have some mega pipe from your gaf..

No chance of me ever getting speeds like that I live miles out of town in the country with no fibre.
I'am however on Line of sight satellite to mast broadband which I find pretty good to be honest.

Ah, OK......my comment was because his down/up-load speeds are so similar.

I have FAR faster download, but can't get near those upload speeds.
