The car was showing 100k bud but the gearbox had been replaced so unfortunately that's not much help. I tested the car out for 2 days before stripping it, I couldn't get it to even hint at crunching in any gear and no whining. When we dropped the oil the sump plug didn't have a single fragment of metal on it and the oil was reasonably clean.

To be truthful I'm on the look out for just the box as my wife's classic Subaru has all the prop rear diff hubs etc...fitted already but the ******* that sold it to her as a mint box was a complete **** as the box once driven was a bag of nails but that's another situation that will be getting dealt with.So if you can get one that's mint, and drive it for a good say 10 or 20 miles before the box is taken out so you personally know that there's no whining crunching etc... Before you take it out and some kind of warranty I will definitely have it off of you let me know what you can do for me,thanks.SJ.
