Default Polishing/Mopping etc

Did a repair on my bootlid, the dreaded spoiler holes had rusted etc so sanded down/treated with the KRUST stuff and filled/sprayed (its a white classic)

Not a bad job for the time i had but i had alot of overspray which i intended to get off with t-cut etc and i did,but just below the repair i have some primer residue that is very hard to get off so thought about getting

Direct Power PP245 120W Auto Polisher 230V - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys

now, never used a mop before, can i use this with some rubbing compound to get rid of my overspray etc etc ?

thought 1st off rubbing compound then use my white polish to finish off

i dunno, think its too much to get rid of by hand, been tryin for an hour or so,i have made what can be described as a map of europe where i have have got rid of some of the overspray and gone back to the good paint but still overspray remains,so i have 2 layers now of paint and i need to use an electrical device as i cant rub anymore, darling :-)

The polisher you have highlighted is RUBBISH!!!!

DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED £££ ON IT MATEY

I bought one of these a few years ago and it wouldnt even remove AG Super Resin Polish residue of fresh paint

Check your local yellow pages, find a reputable body shop, and call in,tell/show them what you want fixed.....for a bootlid/spoiler, 1/2 an hour should be enough to remove most overspray, and you will probably pay less than the price of the above mentioned TOOL!!!

Honestly, its a false economy buying that thing...if you are interested in detailing/valeting your car, and on a budget, stretch to £70, and buy a Kestrel DA....at least it does what its supposed to, and for a novice theres little risk to the paint surface

i hear what your saying, i did have my doubts but locally theres not much about under £80.
i dont want to go to a garage as all you get is,deep breath intake,ah,it needs..........

always wanted a polisher anyway to buff up the white paint, saw this on the bay which isnt too bad for £50 i guess,it uses the sponges rather than the bonnets which is better i think ??

If u fancy a run up I can mop it u.
The hand pads are like what you use on the machines but are for use by hand.

Cheers for the offer but the fuel cost would be more than buying a mop ha ha !

I`ll start off with some g3 by hand to see if it will remove the excess and go from there i think,it does need a mop but will have to hold out then for a better/dearer one later in the yr i think

cheers
