Default Dodo supernatural-dissapointed if im honest

Bought one of the sample pots last wk-when it arrived couldnt believe how small the pot were however actually you use very little to cover the whole car, ended up giving my car 2 coats as to be honest after 1 werent impressed at all.(possibly enough left for another couple of coats-im hoping)

Scooby`s just my 2nd car so were tidy/clean already just needed rinsing off, drying then wax its never in poor condition so prep were unnecessary.

Right first i`ll give ya a few pics to compare against with other products used.

Chemical guys petes 53
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...oday0017-5.jpg

Four star ultimate paint protection (sealant though not wax)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...4starstops.jpg

Pinnacle XMT180
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...4today0008.jpg

Collinite 915
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...oday0004-1.jpg

Right supernatural-much difference i dont think so(this is 2 coats as i were dissapointed with 1)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...oday0065-1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1today0056.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...oday0070-2.jpg

I know the car conditions pretty good but remember from a price point of view the other waxes are around £20 and the four star sealants around £12-whilst im not expecting all the value to be in the reflectivity i do expect it to be significantly more reflective/shiny/whatever than the £20 or less stuff,if its all in the durability no offence dodo but can manage without it-im getting very very simular results with chemical guys petes 53.

Gonna give it another couple of coats before i write it off completely however to need 4 coats before im impressed sorta defeats the object of a better quality wax in the first place-just my opinion im sure im gonna get loadsa reply`s defending dodo-im just not blown away by it.

Nope however neither did i in the other pics didnt affect the outcome there.

Being totally honest other than the bonding(affecting durability which dont really bother me) when ya cars already in pretty good condition not convinced "for the effort" it affects the outcome shinewise.

Im after evaluating the wax for shine exactly as i have the others so if it needs several stages of polishing/cleansers on a perfect finish the ppl using dodo should try some of these others ive used as to be honest the finish will only be better based on using polish/cleansers every time.

Sorry detailers there are shortcuts to a "good enough" finish if ya buy the right products, just so far (imo) this supernatural is over rated.

By the way folks i dont own a polisher or D/A so none of above`s been applied/removed by one.

Ive found alot of cheap products that work really well, if i`d have been impressed honestly i would have said so,just occasionally i like to try slightly more expensive stuff to see what/if im missing out on anything.

Didnt rate swissol(when i tried some)now swissvax "best of show" either at £120 found samurai left a better finish on my car (pic below)
Just seems expense just means durability not overall finish or should i say reflectivity at all(again in my opinion)

As questioned by "n one" I too was going to ask if you cleansed the paint 1st?
The wax is designed to be used as part of a process and (please dont take offense!) not a slap it on and hope its ok regime. The wax is the icing on the cake and personally I feel the results would be a lot better if you used it as advised.
Its nice to hear you found the pot went a long way My SN sample pot did me 5 coats on our car before it was empty. Not bad for £15.
Your general concensus (sp) about waxes ie the dearer the more durable genarally does seem to be the case, but I'm surprised by your opinions on the Swissvax but again will depend on your prep work before. You will find though that beauty is in the eye of the beholder ie to some the finish will look great but to you it may look pants!
Best wishes
Tim
ps some SN pics of mine....

ithink if you spend the time it does make the diff i have been involved in many quick polish ups and 2-3 day details and te diff is plain to see,

also seen very good results with the sn and sn2 compared with the likes of bos and the sn id say was better. just my 2 p car looks good btw Greig

Will agree to some it may look ok just when ya use relatively cheap waxes/sealants to get a simular if not the same shine/finish it doesnt seem worth the extra money based on the finish alone.

Will agree at the end of a proper detail may look better however then is it the fact that the polish/sealant or glaze is the better product??? Wax is wax but there are differences in shine between em you`re still not actually changing the properties of the wax if ya get me-yes ya paintwork will look better(more pure based on condition of paint beneath wax) however if for instance one coat of collinite makes my car look more shiny than 1 coat of supernatural surely im not wrong to prefer the finish of collinite 915 when applied to the same car in the same way.

certainly looking nice. must admit i've not tried my sample pot that i got from Dom yet. was more than happy with double layering the purple haze and blue velvet on my red ra. might have to try it on my bm though. will most likely treat myself to a full size pot of sn at some point though.

one question i have though is how long are you leaving it to cure for and how often between layers?

the points you raise are completely valid though. if you prefer the look of a cheaper wax then that's entirely up to you. tbh i found it hard to beat the look of poorboys nattys wax on my dbm fiesta. it wasn't until i started layering different waxes that i really noticed a difference.

stick with the sn though fella. if you're always on top of the cleaning regime then the look is only going to get deeper and wetter

Going to be honest with ya today probably not as long before buffing off as i`d like.
Were outside washing my car around half 8 this morning(after rinsing remaining ice off of it)-thought right sun should just about be on it soon to take the damp off it as im leathering it off(roof froze gutted lol)put car in sun to melt ice, bout half hour later were cool had melted.
leathered off but lately its been getting damp from about 2pm so knew i`d be pushed for time, however as ive not got a garage i can get me car in definately wanted to get 2 coats on whilst the weather were decent.

Probably looking about half hour(i know thats not long especially with the cold/damp air)before buffing off then about an hour before the next coat-couldnt leave any longer or car would have been damp.

yeah half hour is not that long really. sure pb leave theirs overnight with the zymol. when you get more time, most likely next summer now, try spit shining the dodo. put a nice thin layer on and leave to cure for an hour or two. then spritz with a fine mist of water when buffing off. this helps to cure further which will allow you to put another layer on sooner and also give an even greater shine.

know what you mean with the lack of garage though. would love to have a double garage so i can get around to detail the car. i only have a drive not even a single garage
