Default Polishing my rear diff case

As I seem to spend a good few minutes under the rear of my car cleaning and polishing my loverly H&S exhaust, it has been said to clean my diff case.

What do I use and how do I use it to get the best result.

Thanks HT04. I suppose I could get out my wire wool and autosoul and have a go.

To make the job easier, I have 4 axle stands

Dremel, wire brushes, metal brush bits, then felt polishing bits plus Blackfire range of metal polishes and a dollop of patience. Bling bling!

When you say it like that, you make it sound so easy

I don't what it to be uber shiny, just looking better.

diffs are easy enough to pick up, so why not get a spare cover and do it in comfort

I had a go at it today and it came up quite good considering I was flat of my back reaching above my head. Going to have another go tomorrow and I will take some pictures for you to see my effort.

I saw this thread and wondered how long it would be before you were showing your backend to the world! Looking good as ever Si.

My Whiteline ARM looks like a rusty old nail in comparison to these! Time to whip it off and paint it up like Ian has. Makes you think it is easier to paint it with Hammerite before it goes on...

Cheers. I am happy with the result. I think if I wanted to get it better, then I think I would have to get a dremel.

It's like painting a room in your house though. That newly painted room makes the other walls look a little tired and in need of attention.....
